Ingredients:
# Mutton - 1 kg
# Ginger - 1 large piece
# Garlic pods - 10 nos
# Garam masala powder - 5 tsp
# Pepper - as required
# Chilli powder - 2 tsp
# Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
# Coriander powder - 2 tbsp
# Onion (finely chopped) - 2 nos
# Tomato (finely chopped) - 2 nos
# Mustard seeds and urid dhal - 1/2 tsp each
# Curry leaves - as required
# Coriander leaves (finely chopped) - as required
# Lemon juice - 2 tbsp
# Green chillis - 3 nos
# Oil - as required
Preparation:
# Clean and cut the mutton into smaller pieces.
# Grind the green chillis into a fine paste along with ginger, garlic, turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala powder, lemon juice and pepper.
# Marinate the mutton pieces in this for atleast 1 hour.
# In a pressure cooker, heat some oil, and add the marinated mutton pieces and pressure cook the mutton (atleast 4 whistles).
# In a large vessel, heat some oil, and splutter mustard seeds and urid dhal.
# Add the curry leaves and onion and saute until the onions turn golden brown.
# Add the tomatoes and cook until they become tender.
# Now, add the cooked mutton, and add water if necessary.
# Cook on low flame until the oil separates.
# Garnish with coriander leaves and serve warm along with rice or parathas.
