Atho - Indian Style



Ingredients:

# Noodles - 1 packet (250 grams)
# Orange food color - 1/2 teaspoon
# Onion (finely chopped or thinly sliced) - 1 1/2 cups
# Cabbage (chopped) - 1 cup
# Bell peppers (optional) - 1/2 cup
# Garlic (finely chopped) - 1 tablespoon
# Chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
# Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
# Vinegar - 1 teaspoon
# Bengal gram flour - 2 tablespoons
# Tamarind extract - 2 teaspoons
# Salt - as required
# Coriander leaves (finely chopped) - to garnish


Preparation:

# Boil water and add the salt, noodles and food color, and once the noodles are completely cooked, drain the excess water and keep aside after adding vinegar and oil to it.

# In a pan, deep fry the chopped garlic and onion and also the bell peppers (if adding) and keep them aside.

# In the oil used to fry the garlic and onion, add the garam masala and chilli powder and keep aside.

# Now, in a big vessel, mix all the ingredients together and mix with a fork. 

# Garnish with coriander leaves and raw onions and serve warm.

If desired, you can also heat it in a microwave oven before serving it...
